Nordic Team meets on Monday at high school

The Methow Valley Nordic Team will hold a registration and information meeting at 5 p.m. Monday (Oct. 20) in the Liberty Bell High School multipurpose room. Those already registered are welcome to attend. Registrants will pick up team jackets and discuss the plan for the upcoming season.

Team director,. Leslie Hall,. will have a number of veteran skiers returning to the team this season. Those include Liberty Bell High School senior,. Elise Putnam, who is often training with the National Guard biathlon team; junior,. Claire Waichler; junior,. Ella Hall, who is in Norway for the fall season; sophomore Danielle Mott, currently playing varsity soccer for the Lady Lions; and sophomore Taya Delong.

Juniors Eli Nielsen and Geza Sukovaty are competing for the LBHS cross-country team and will join the Nordic skiers when they finish up their running season.

A number of junior high Nordic skiers made their mark in the recently ended junior high XC season. Seventh graders Novie McCabe, Gretta Scholz and Walker Hall, and eighth graders Emerson Worrell and Peter Aspholm, were all top finishers for the LBHS junior high team.
