It has been a tough couple of weeks for the Liberty Bell High School varsity football team as it battled through injuries, ineligibility and player losses to get ready for Friday’s (Oct. 17) Homecoming game against Bridgeport.
Along the way the Mountain Lions had to back away from a game against Brewster on Oct. 3 and passed on playing the Okanogan Bulldogs on Oct. 10.
The Mustangs were having problems of their own and also cancelled their scheduled game against the Bears on Oct. 10 in order to field sufficient players to make Friday’s game.
Liberty Bell football coach Brian Wilbur said he expects to have 16 or 17 players suited up for this week’s fight under the lights, which he predicted will be a well-balanced game between two evenly matched teams.
Game time is 7 p.m.
