
The local group studying needs and resources for child care and early childhood education is holding focus groups for parents and primary caregivers of children from birth to age 10.
The focus groups are informal discussions to understand child care and early childhood education successes, challenges needs and gaps in the Methow Valley.
The discussions will be held:
• Thursday (Oct. 16), 10 to 11:30 a.m., at Room One in Twisp.
• Monday (Oct. 20), 5 to 6:30 p.m., at Little Star Montessori school in Winthrop.
• Oct. 25, 10 to 11:30 a.m., at Room One in Twisp.
• Oct. 27, 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., at Room One in Twisp.
Each family that attends the focus group will receive a $25 gift card to Hank’s Harvest Foods.
The Early Childhood Education & Childcare Initiative research is a collaborative effort of the Methow Valley School District and local child care and early education providers. More information about the initiative and links to a survey where people can provide input are available at www.methow.org.
Anyone interested in participating must RSVP so that the organizers can arrange for child care providers, who will be available at the meetings if needed.
