The Carlton General Store is open for business every day except Tuesdays and Wednesdays. An article in last week’s Methow Valley News incorrectly stated the store is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. The News regrets the error.
An article in the Oct. 8 issue about changes in the county’s appeals process for land-use matters said that a determination that a project would not affect the environment could not be appealed until the final decision on the project has been made. These preliminary determinations can be appealed as in the past, but the county has changed the procedure so that the appeal will come before the hearing examiner instead of the county commissioners. The News regrets the error.
