The Okanogan County commissioners are holding a public meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 22, to gather information regarding the management of the Carlton Complex Fire.
The objective of the meeting is to gather information from citizens who experienced the fire firsthand, according to a legal notice issued by the county. People will be allotted time to express concerns or commendations about the performance of various agencies during the fire.
County staff and elected officials will use the information to review the county’s emergency response plan and to develop other applicable policies and regulations.
People can provide written input before or at the hearing, and can also provide verbal testimony at the meeting. There will be no time limit unless necessary to allow everyone to speak.
Comments may be submitted to Laleña Johns, clerk of the board, at ljohns@co.okanogan.wa.us.
For more information about the meeting, contact Okanogan County Planning Director Perry Huston at (509) 422-7218, or phuston@co.okanogan.wa.us.
