Community ready to rise up for Phoenix Festival

October 10, 2014 by Methow Valley News

Music, food, art and community camaraderie will fill the day on Oct. 18 at TwispWorks, at a new event called The Phoenix Festival: “We’re Done Burning, Man!”

TwispWorks is partnering with Methow Arts Alliance and Confluence Gallery & Art Center to stage the festival, which will benefit fire and flood recovery for the Methow Valley.

Activities begin at 2 p.m. and will continue until 10 p.m. Entertainment scheduled so far includes the Dusty 45s, the Methow Valley’s own Luc and the Lovingtons, Kore Ionz, Bakra Bata’, Thione Diop and Yeke Yeke, Roger and Me (featuring Lynette Westendorf and her brother), Christina Stout Fire Dance, and the Spider Ferns.

Tickets will be $20 for adults; kids 15 and under will be admitted by donation. Tickets are available at www.brownpapertickets.com/event/866154, and at Twisp Daily Business, Riverside Printing in Winthrop, the Carlton Store and TwispWorks.

For more information, call 997-3300.
