Bluegrass at Spartan Art
Bluegrass guitar player and vocalist Eli West will perform Sunday (Oct. 12) at the Spartan Art Project, the converted travel trailer at TwispWorks, beginning at 7 p.m. West is part of the musical duo, Cahalen and Eli. Cost is $15. For more information, email mattpotter@holdenvillage.org.
Cuba comes to Confluence
Confluence Gallery in Twisp will host its annual membership gathering on Oct. 24 from 7-10 p.m. Guests will be “transported to Cuba” by way of salsa dance instructions, music, appetizers and mojitos. Painters’ retreat
Local watercolor artist and instructor Paula Christen is offering a painters’ retreat in Mazama on Oct. 24-25, hosted by the North Cascades Basecamp. Cashore’s marionettes coming
Marionette master Joe Cashore will perform on Nov. 1 at the Winthrop Barn in an appearance sponsored by Methow Arts. The show begins at 7 p.m. For more information, email info@methowartsalliance.org or call 997-4004.
Cashore, who has traveled the world for more than 20 years performing with his handcrafted string puppets, recreates an art form that goes back to ancient times, according to a Methow Arts press release. The event will include a performance by local students.
Prices for adults range from $15 to $25; and $5-$10 for children. Tickets are available at Twisp Daily Business, Riverside Printing in Winthrop and brownpapertickets.com. Free tickets will be available to victims of the summer fires, as well as to clients of Room One, The Cove and the Methow Valley Senior Center in Twisp.
