Nine riders from the Moccasin Lake Equestrian Team, coached by Annie and Tulie Budiselich, competed recently the Equestrians Institute’s One Day Event and Combined Trial at the Washington State Horse Park in Cle Elum. The sport of eventing is often referred to as a “triathlon” for horses, and  includes  three phases of competition: dressage, stadium jumping, and cross-country. The team brought home several ribbons. Competing were juniors Willa Hilton, Liv Aspholm, Sydney Schuler, Gretta Scholz and Daisy Hilton. Adults who competed included Annie Budiselich, Robert Levy, Lisa Spitzmiller and Heide Andersen. Above: Willa Hilton, 13, of Winthrop, jumps the stadium course on Finesse, an 18-year-old quarter horse/Morgan cross owned by Methow Valley Riding Unlimited.
