New show at Winthrop Gallery
The Winthrop Gallery will host an artists’ reception on Oct. 4 in conjunction with the opening of the gallery’s “Shrines, Altars and Sacred Objects” exhibit. The free event begins at 5 p.m. The exhibit opens Oct. 1 and continues through Nov. 24. For more information, call 996-3925.
Submissions sought for Phoenix Festival
Submissions for fire-inspired visual, installation, audio, video, musical or performance art are being accepted for the upcoming Phoenix Festival on Oct. 18.
The festival is the brainchild of TwispWorks, Methow Arts Alliance, and Confluence Gallery and Arts Center to benefit fire and flood recovery in the Methow Valley.
Those interested in presenting creative work, setting up an art, craft or food retail booth, or contributing to the “Share Room” should contact Tory Karpenko, TwispWorks’ director of partnerships. Fill out a submission form at twispworks.org/phoenix-festival-call-submissions and email it to tkarpenko@twispworks.org or bring it to the TwispWorks office at 502 S. Glover St.
Kids’ art parties
Confluence Gallery in Twisp will offer a series of kids’ art parties this fall. Cost of each party is $35. The parties are tailored for children in grades one through five. The parties are on Oct. 17, Nov. 3, Nov. 12, and Dec. 12. For more information, call 997-2787.
