

Becky and Matt Barnes are doing a brisk business at their stand near the incident base for the Carlton Complex Fire, selling shirts and caps with graphics created specially for the fire. The Omak-based family business travels around the West to large fires — usually with 1,000 firefighters or more — selling clothing with the names of the local wildfires. Firefighters and community members buy them as souvenirs and because it gives them “bragging rights,” said Matt Barnes.
