Joy Irene (Martin) Watkins-Carlin 

Joy Irene (Martin) Watkins-Carlin, 83, passed away at A Touch of Heaven assisted living facility in Redding, California, on June 17, 2014. Joy was born Jan. 3, 1931, in Winthrop, to Willis Martin Sr. and Mona (La Rue) Martin.

She is survived by one son, Bruce L. Watkins (California); three stepsons, George C. Carlin, Gregory B. Carlin and Dwight D. Carlin (all from Washington); and several grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle F. Carlin; father Willis Martin Sr.; mother Mona I. Martin; and brothers Daniel J. Martin, Willis Martin Jr., Keith L. Martin, and Thomas W. Martin. A service at the Sullivan Cemetery in Winthrop is being planned for September. Precht-Harrison-Nearents Chapel is caring for the arrangements.
