The caption accompanying a photo of a plume of smoke above Twisp in the July 23 issue implied that town residents had been told to be ready to evacuate on Thursday, July 17. The evacuation warning was issued the following day, when Twisp was threatened by fire approaching from the hills east of town. The News regrets the error.
