Rivers focus of discussion at Confluence Gallery

June 12, 2014 by Methow Valley News

In conjunction with its current exhibit “Our River,” Confluence Gallery & Art Center in Twisp will host a panel discussion on Friday (June 13) about local rivers and what they mean to us as a community.

The informal discussion begins at 6 p.m. and will be facilitated by Derek Van Marter, executive director of the Upper Columbia Salmon Recovery Board. Other panel members include artist Bruce Morrison, fish ecologist John Crandall, farmer and poet Kelleigh McMillan, former guide and commercial fisherwoman Elaine Marquez, musician Lynette Westendorf, North Cascades Fly Fishing guide Kevin van Bueren, Okanogan County Electric Cooperative board member Ray Peterson, and wildlife biologist Kent Woodruff.

The event is free; a small donation will be requested for refreshments. For more information, call 997-2787.
