The Methow Recycles annual metal drive starts Sunday (May 25) with free drop-off of most scrap metals from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. at Cascade Concrete on Horizon Flats Road in Winthrop.
The second day of the drive will be June 7.
Acceptable materials include appliances, “things with engines” (farm, garden and lawn equipment), wire, cable, pipe, chain, scrap steel and iron, and non-ferrous metals such as copper and aluminum, according to a Methow Recycles press release.
Not generally acceptable are electronics, microwave ovens and closed containers that may hold fuel, paint or pesticides.
