Firewise workshop on Saturday

The Okanogan Conservation District is hosting a free Firewise workshop in Twisp on Saturday (May 17) from 10 a.m. – noon at TwispWorks. The workshop is provided in partnership with Washington Department of Natural Resources, Okanogan County, and Okanogan Fire District 6.

Local fire managers will discuss ways to prepare one’s home and property for wildfire, and how to react when a wildfire is in the area. Light refreshments will be provided. For more information, call (509) 422-0855 ext. 100 or visit www.okanogancd.org/firewise.

 

Methow Eagles fundraiser

The Methow Eagles is hosting its first club fundraiser and membership drive on Saturday (May 17) at 205 South Highway 20, Twisp. The event is open to the public and begins with a barbecue lunch from noon – 3p.m. A silent auction will be open until 5 p.m.

Following the auction will be a talent show from 7 – 10 p.m. with prizes. Finishing off the night will be DJ Timber Tiger until around 2 a.m. Lunch is $8; everything else is free. For more information, call 997-8133 or email lindseybryson1983@yahoo.com.
