
Anne Marie Sanborn, 76, died peacefully on April 22, 2014, in her home in Carlton, surrounded by her daughter Karen, long-time caregiver and friend Gwen Pipkin, and loyal dog Sam. Anne was born Oct. 21, 1937, in Hamilton, Ont.
Anne was a Navy wife. Tours: two in Italy and also Morocco, Beirut, Cyprus, Puerto Rico and Maryland. She had many passions, and these are just some of them: mountain climbing, marathon running, biking, gardening, cross country skiing, hiking, camping, traveling, recycling, bird watching and music. She volunteered at the Twisp Library for over 20 years and was an avid reader.
Anne was preceded in death by her parents, an older brother, her husband, Richard, and her son, Mark.
She leaves behind her sister Jean Selleck; brother George Hewitt; son Rick and his wife, Karen; grandson Matthew; granddaughter Rachel Smith, Omak; son John and his wife, Laura, Homer, Alaska; grandson C.J. and his wife, Megan, Bellingham; granddaughter Sarah Sanborn, Seattle; and two grandchildren from her late son Mark, Chasen Harriot and Canda Marsh.
A memorial service will be held at the Masonic Lodge in Twisp on May 10 at 1 p.m.
