Dan Foussard, Jesse Davis and Chris Zahn pried boards and sheet metal off the Town of Winthrop’s 1940s-era Bluff Street shop on Saturday. Foussard, who bid $253 to dismantle the building and haul everything away, described the lumber as “absolutely gorgeous. I scored really good on it.” Although he doesn’t have definite plans for the materials, “barn boards like that are very sought after,” Foussard said. Winthrop Clerk Michelle Gaines said the old building had outlived its purpose and needed to be moved before Bluff Street upgrades begin this summer.
