Calling all regional baristas to Blue Star training event

April 17, 2014 by Methow Valley News

BlueStar-TBlue Star Coffee Roasters is inviting all “eastside” baristas to take part in a new event, The 509 Barista Jam, on June 7 and 8 at the company’s roasting plant in Twisp.

The Barista Jam is intended to bring people from the coffee business together to learn about making the best espresso. Participants will take part in barista skill-building classes covering topics such as extraction, flavor profiling, espresso machine maintenance and latte art.

The event begins June 7 with a meet-and-greet at TwispWorks with music, food and a bonfire. The June 8 session is from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Registration is available online at www.bluestarcoffeeroasters.com. Early registration is $25; on-site registration is $35.

The Barista Jam is an event for people in the coffee business and won’t be open to the general public.
