Corrections

April 3, 2014 by Methow Valley News

An article about awards won by the Winthrop Rhythm & Blues Festival said that the festival is put on entirely by volunteers. While the festival is produced by the nonprofit Winthrop Music Association, which is run by a volunteer board, and uses many volunteers during the festival weekend, the festival also includes some paid staff for security, production and site services. Also, the caption for a photograph of Erika Olsen, who handles promotions and public relations for the festival, said she was pictured with the award for social media. The photo showed Olsen with the award-winning poster. The News regrets the errors.

In an item about Cascadia scholarships in the May 26 issue, two of the scholarship amounts were incorrect. Peter Aspholm was awarded $300 and Stephanie Strong was awarded $150.
