Rec district candidates to appear at public forum

March 26, 2014 by Methow Valley News

Methow Valley residents will hear from all the candidates running for the Methow Valley Recreation District commission during a public forum Thursday (March 27) at the Twisp Valley Grange.

The meeting, hosted by the Twisp and Winthrop chambers of commerce, begins at 6:30 p.m.

Each candidate will answer a set of questions about their reasons for running and their goals if elected. The public will be able to submit questions in writing, which will be read by moderator Peter Morgan.

Candidates for the district are Bart Bradshaw, Kristin Devin, Don Fitzpatrick, Mike Fort, Christine Holm, Julie Muyllaert, John Northcott, Julie Palm, Camden Shaw, Steven Stacy, Paula Stokes, Kevin van Bueren and Brent Walker.

Two citizen organizations have created websites with information in favor of and opposed to the district. The Friends of the Recreation District website is www.methowrecreationdistrict.org. Methow Recreation District Choices is at www.methowrecreationdistrictchoices.org.

The Methow Valley News will run profiles of candidates in the April 2 issue.
