Register bikes at upcoming Bike Rodeos

The police departments of Twisp and Winthrop are joining forces to register bicycles in the community.

“Stolen bicycles turn up and we don’t know who the owners are,” said Twisp Police Chief Paul Budrow at last week’s Methow Valley Community Roundtable (March 14). “This is a way the police can identify bikes and get them entered into a county-wide database.”

Officers will have a booth at both upcoming Bike Rodeos — at TwispWorks on May 17 and at Pearrygin Lake State Park on June 14 — to register bikes. Adults are welcome to register their bicycles as well, Budrow said.

For more information call Chief Budrow at 997-6112.

Race through Omak’s blooming orchards

Run through orchards in full bloom on the flat rural roads and rolling hills above Omak in the Omak Orchards in Bloom inaugural half marathon and 10K on April 26.

Walkers and runners are welcome to participate in either race, which start and finish at Rockwall Cellars Winery at 8 a.m. All finishers receive a race shirt and finisher medal.

Wine tasting will be available for participants and crew members after the race.

For more information or to register go to www.omakorchardsinbloom.org or contact Racie McKee at (509) 826-7680.
