Twenty-six snowmobile enthusiasts from the Methow Valley and beyond gathered on Saturday (Feb. 22) for the Association of Okanogan County Snowmobile Clubs’ annual Charity Ride. Funds raised by participants on the ride go to a “local family in need,” according to Methow Valley Snowmobile Association Vice President, Dolly Stahl. The route took riders on a 22-mile counter-clockwise loop from Goat Creek Sno-Park near Mazama up the Beaver Slide to Black Pine Hut for lunch around the campfire. Some adventurous sledders, including Stahl, even extended their day with a little off-trail riding before heading back to civilization, she said. Photos by Laurelle Walsh
