If you have ever wondered what the sport of biathlon is all about, then the Try Biathlon event hosted by Methow Valley Biathlon on Feb. 15 offers a chance to learn more.
The event is open to participants 9 and older and will offer details on equipment, history, training and safety, and even allow participants to take turns shooting at targets and skiing a short and easy biathlon course.
The first-come, first-shoot fundraiser for the Methow Valley Biathlon Team will lock and load at the Mazama Biathlon Range, 1.5 kilometers east of the Mazama Corral trailhead. Registration is available from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and the actual event will get underway at
10:30 a.m. and continue until 2 p.m. Participants must ski out to the range. Suggested donation is $20.
