Methow Recycles has named valley residents Jane Hubrig and Walt Havens to its board of directors.
Hubrig moved to the Methow Valley full-time in 2008 with her husband, Kris, and daughters Larkin and Sage. She is the managing director at The Merc Playhouse and serves on the board of the Twisp Chamber of Commerce. Before moving to the Methow, Hubrig spent 20 years in marketing and advertising, most recently for the Whatcom Museum in Bellingham.
Havens is returning to the Methow Recycles board. He served from 2006 to 2012, including three years as president. Havens and his wife, Kathleen, have lived in the Methow Valley since 2000 when he retired from a 35-year career in engineering at the Boeing Company and the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena.
Methow Recycles is a nonprofit that supports recycling, waste prevention and materials reuse. Other board members are Gina Monteverde, Jon Albright, David Clement, Michelle Dewey, Cara Godwin and Steve Oulman.
