Ski for Women is back for a second year. The fundraising event to benefit Room One, the nonprofit social services agency in Twisp, is scheduled for Feb. 2 at the Winthrop Town Trailhead. Participation is free but donations are requested and all will go to Room One. Women of all ages and ability are invited, as are spectators of either sex.
The event begins at 12:30 p.m. with sign-in and costume judging. Costumes are optional but encouraged. There will also be prizes for the best teams of two or more skiers.
Skiing starts at 1 p.m., with a 2-kilometer “fun course” laid out. Non-skiers can walk along the Susie Stephens Trail. The event is scheduled to finish in time for the Super Bowl game that afternoon.
