County job fair seeks employers

Local and regional employers are invited to set up a table at the 2014 Okanogan County Job Fair on Feb. 27 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Omak Community Center. The event, free to businesses and job-seekers, is hosted in part by WorkSource Okanogan County, Colville Confederated Tribes, Career Path Services and the Economic Alliance. Last year 39 employers were represented at the job fair and more than 400 job-seekers attended. To reserve a table, call Robert Adams at (509) 826-7541 or email radams@esd.wa.gov. A free lunch will be provided for employer representatives.

 

Help for women, minority-owned businesses

Minority and women owners of small businesses are invited to meet Alexis Oliver, director of the Washington State Office of Minority & Women’s Business Enterprises, at a “Get Certified Week” event on Jan. 23 from 1 – 3 p.m. at the Havilah Road Conference Center, 208 S. Main St. in Omak. The free event is hosted by the Economic Alliance. To register, call (509) 826-5107. Attendees will learn about the state’s certification process for minority and women-owned businesses.
