Lagene “Bud” Hawkins

“Bud” Hawkins, age 89, died Friday, Jan. 3, 2014, in Wenatchee, where he had lived for 10 years. He was born Sept. 25, 1924, to Ralph and Rachel Hawkins, in Pierce, Colo.

He is survived by his son Mike and his wife, Penny, and their children: Christi (Kevin) VanWagner, Stephanie (Tom) Keene, Heather Hawkins, Erin (Blaine) Davidson, all of Wenatchee, seven great-grandchildren, and one sister, Irene Bennett of Colorado.

Bud was preceded in death by his dear wife, Echo, to whom he had been married 67 years.

Bud and his brother-in-law Wayne Smith operated the first RV dealership in Washington state, S&H Sales RV Company.

Visitation hours were held Wednesday at Jones & Jones-Betts Funeral Home. A graveside inurnment service will be held Friday (Jan. 10) at 1 p.m. at Evergreen Memorial Park, 1301 10th St. N.E., in East Wenatchee.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
