Catherine Annie Ritz, 88, of Methow, passed away to be with her Lord and Savior on Dec. 30, 2013. She was born on Feb. 1, 1925, in Thompson, Saskatchewan. She and her American citizen parents moved back to the United States in 1930. Catherine is survived by her children, Catherine Nickerson and Calvin Ritz; siblings, Donalda Howard, Jessie Schlener, Ruthie Hogland, Dan MacDonald, and Kenneth MacDonald; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Calvin C. Ritz; and siblings, Alan MacDonald, Doris Howard, Jim MacDonald, Bill MacDonald and Ralph MacDonald.
A service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday (Jan. 11) at the Methow Calvary Chapel in Methow. Visitation and an opportunity to pay last respects will be held prior to the service on Saturday starting at 2 p.m. Catherine will be laid to rest next to her husband, Calvin, at the Wenatchee City Cemetery in Wenatchee at 11 a.m. Monday (Jan. 13).
