Ski rodeo cancelled

Go retro at Vintage Ski Festival

Celebrate the long history of Nordic skiing on Monday (Dec. 30) at the Vintage Ski Festival, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Mazama Store courtyard. Bring vintage ski equipment and vintage clothing, and show it all off in the promenade tour. Registration is free, compliments of the Methow Valley Nordic Club. For more information, call 996-3287.

Give biathlon a try

Want to know more about biathlon? Take part in the Methow Valley Biathlon Team’s “Come Try Biathlon” event on Jan. 1 at the Mazama biathlon range, 1.5 kilometers east of the Corral Trailhead, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Open to ages 9 and above, and no previous experience is required. The Methow Valley Biathlon Team will share details on the equipment, history, training and safety of the sport before participants take turns shooting at targets and skiing a short and easy biathlon course.
