Local man jailed on rape charges

David Lee Sarazin, 29, of Twisp remained in Okanogan County Jail in lieu of bail  Monday (Dec. 23) after being charged with eight counts of second-degree rape of a child and five counts of second-degree child molestation.

The charges stem from incidents that took place between September 2010 and June 2011, involving a girl between 12 and 14 years old, according to documents filed in Okanogan County Superior Court.

Each charge of child rape carries a maximum penalty of life imprisonment and/or $50,000 fine, and each charge of molestation carries a maximum penalty of 10 years imprisonment and/or $20,000 fine. Bail was set at $100,000.
