Delilah Cupp of Twisp, competing in her first-ever distance-running event, completed the 13.1-mile Seattle Half Marathon on Sunday (Dec 1). The 16-year-old finished the course through the streets of Seattle in 1 hour, 42 minutes, 21 seconds, averaging 7:49 minutes per mile.
Cupp was 10th out of 122 women aged 19 years and under, 177th out of all 3,237 women in the event, and 443rd out of a total of 5,809 competitors.
Winthrop’s Danica Ready also ran the Half Marathon in a time of 2:08:31, which placed her 162nd among 434 women in the 40-44 age group, 1,149th out of the 3,237 females competing and the 2,662nd finisher overall.
