Vintage party at Confluence
The year-end holidays are a good time for pleasant nostalgia, and Confluence Gallery & Art Center in Twisp is making it easy for you to turn back the clock with its “Black Tie: Vintage Ski Lodge” event from 7-10 p.m. on Dec. 14.
Attire can range from vintage lodge wear to modern (or rustic) dressing up. Included are a complimentary glass of champagne, hors d’oeuvres and glü wein. David Weidig will provide seasonal guitar music.

ARTscapes celebrates in Omak
A gathering to celebrate the success of the ARTscapes project in Omak will be held Dec. 4 from 4:30-6 p.m. at 7 South Main St. ARTscapes, a project of Methow Arts Alliance, met its goal of filling a vacant downtown space with a temporary artist’s studio. Artist Bruce Townsend Cook of Riverside has used the space since May as a second art studio for his glassblowing and metal work. A second ARTscapes project is in Twisp, where Jessica Dietz showcases her copper work, weathervanes, jewelry and sculpture. For more information about the free event in Omak, call 997-4004.
Audition for Itch
Auditions begin Sunday and Monday (Dec.1 and 2) for the Methow Valley Theater production of The Seven Year Itch, which will be performed at the Methow Valley Community Center in Twisp on the last two weekends of March 2014. Auditions will be Sunday at 2 p.m. and Monday at 6:30 p.m. at the community center. Rehearsals begin in January. For more information, call 997-2098.
Winter circus is coming
A “Winter Wonder Circus Gala” will take over the Winthrop Barn on Dec. 7 when the Animate Objects Physical Theatre, based out of Miami and Seattle, turns the entire space into a performance panorama that includes aerial arts, stilt walkers, fire dancers, mimes, unicyclists, balance arts and Jack Frost the juggler.
The event, presented by Methow Arts, begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are $45 and reservations are advised. Appetizers and desserts are included.
