Marjorie Kathleen Peacock: 1937 – 2013

November 21, 2013 by Methow Valley News

Marjorie PeacockMarjorie Kathleen Peacock, 76, of Omak, went to be with the Lord on Nov. 12, 2013, at home. She was born July 12, 1937, in Holabird, S.D., to Anton and Neva Kowalski.

Margie moved to Washington in the late 1960s with her family where she worked in the apple sheds for years. In 1972 she, along with her family, moved to Okanogan. There she, once again, worked in the apple warehouses until taking a job at Ulrich’s Drugs in Omak.

On Aug. 13, 1975 she married the love of her life, Charles Peacock. They made their home in Omak for the past 37 years. All who knew Margie loved her smile and her quick sense of humor.

When the kids were in school, all the school kids referred to her as “Mom” because of her love of children and how willing she was to give a hug or make them a meal.

Margie and Chuck loved to travel to as many places as they could afford to get to. She had a deep love for lighthouses, so whenever possible they would go down the coast and look at the ocean and the lighthouses. Her other passion, other than her children, was doing yard work with her “hubby,” as she loved her roses.

Margie is survived by her husband, Chuck, and children Mike (Marla) Oestreich, Tracy (Marilyn) Oestreich, Kathy (Mark) Green and Steve (Diane) Peacock. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Margie was preceded in death by one grandson, David Alan Oestreich.

Per her request there will be no funeral services. The family is planning a celebration of life potluck on Saturday (Nov. 23) at the Okanogan Grange from
11 a.m.-1 p.m. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to the American Cancer Society in her name.

Precht-Harrison-Nearents Chapel and the Okanogan County Crematory of Okanogan are caring for the arrangements.
