Prescribed burns continue in Cub Creek area

November 7, 2013 by Methow Valley News

U.S. Forest Service crews are continuing prescribed burns through the fall in the Cub Creek drainage area north of Winthrop, the site of logging operations over the past two summers.

Crews completed about 80 acres of machine-pile burning and about 30 acres of hand-pile burning last weekend, the Forest Service said.

Burning will continue over the next several weeks as conditions permit in several timber sale units covering several hundred acres.

For more information, call the Methow Valley Ranger District office in Winthrop at 996-4000.
