Funny fundraiser for junior class
Comedian Tim Behrens performs a new work by renowned humorist Patrick F. McManus – “Poor Again … Dagnabbit!” – in a fundraiser for the Liberty Bell High School junior class at the Winthrop Barn on Saturday (Nov. 9).
The show begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for children under 12, and are available at Karen’s Family Salon and Riverside Printing in Winthrop, and at Twisp River Suites and Twisp Daily Business. For more information, call (509) 429-2064.
“The worldwide recession continues to increase the spread of laughlessness across the land,” Behrens said in a press release, “and we aim to do our part to combat this situation.”
Proceeds will go toward the junior class Close Up trip to Washington, D.C.
Memory House returns for one night
Bo Thrasher and Morgan Tate reprise their roles in a one-night encore of the Readers’ Theater production of Memory House on Saturday (Nov. 9) at The Merc Playhouse in Twisp. The play was written by Kathleen Tolan and is directed by Merc Artistic Director Ki Gottberg. The show begins at 7 p.m., and admission is by donation. Choir music for flutists
Flutists are invited to play flute choir music in an informal session on Nov. 14 at Looney Creek, 134 Riverside Ave. in Winthrop.
