Thomas Albert Shaw, 58, passed away Oct. 27, 2013. Tom was born Jan. 8, 1955, at Brewster, to Norman H. and Nellie R. (Burgess) Shaw.
He grew up on a farm at South Fork Gold Creek near the town of Methow and attended school at Pateros.
He spent his life working in the Pateros and Brewster area, doing construction on cold storage buildings and homes or fishing with any friends or family he could talk into going with him.
He is survived by his ex-wife (and still best friend), Cynthia Jane Martin Shaw of Old Town, Idaho; his daughter, Solola M. Shaw, also of Old Town, and her children, Tyler, Casey and Aidyn, of Old Town; his son, Tekoa A. Shaw of Austin, Texas; and his step-son Connery Picard of Old Town, Idaho. Also his brothers Norman (and Nina) Shaw of Brewster, Robert (and Brenda) Shaw of Brewster, and sisters Irene Shaw of East Wenatchee, Susan (and Dennis) Gardner of Winthrop, Edith (and Fausto) Herrera of Bridgeport, and numerous nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his most staunch fishing buddy, Mike Harvey of Bridgeport Bar.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
There will be a celebration of Tom’s life at a later date at the Brewster American Legion Post.
