Sam Green, Washington’s first poet laureate, answered questions last week from Liberty Bell High School students about his favorite poets, what he writes about, and described the many ways poetry sustains him every day. “Poetry helps us express what makes us human, and what we share in this emotional society of ours,” he said, encouraging kids to read and write poems.
