The Town of Winthrop has agreed to sell what’s been called the old town hall building – now occupied by Inside Out Home & Garden – to the business’ owner, Theresa Price.
The building, at 168 Riverside Ave., sold for $155,000 in a purchase agreement approved last week by the Winthrop Town Council. The deal was expected to close by the end of the month.
In other business, the council:
• Announced that the first budget workshop on the 2014 town budget will be Thursday (Oct. 24) at 6 p.m. in the Hen House room at the Winthrop Barn. Public comments will be accepted for the first 30 minutes.

• Swore in new council member Jessica Sheehan to fill the vacant Position 2 on the council for the next two months. Position 2 expires on Dec. 31. The council position is on the November ballot, with one candidate – Michael Strulic – running for the seat.
• Approved a contract for just under $5,000 with RH2 Engineering to do preliminary engineering for the construction of a trail under the Chewuch River Bridge in downtown Winthrop.
