Award-winning author Dia Calhoun will offer a free writing workshop and a reading and book signing Saturday (Oct. 12) at Trail’s End Bookstore.
The workshop, geared to children 8-12 years old, will be from 3-4:30 p.m. Calhoun writes young adult fiction, and some of her work is inspired by the Methow Valley. She spends a month here each summer writing at a family orchard near the town of Methow.
Her two most recent works, After the River the Sun and Eva of the Farm, are set in the Methow Valley and include familiar scenes. Calhoun will be signing these and other works on Saturday.
Sign up for the workshop by calling the bookstore at 996-2345. Participants should bring writing materials. Refreshments will be served.
