Della Mae Bonnicksen, 91, passed away Sept. 18, 2013. She was born Sept. 12, 1922 in Riverside, Calif., to Ramon Mackett (Papago) and Virginia (Naseytewa) Mackett (Hopi). Della attended Sherman Institute in Riverside, where she met Adolph. They married in 1939 and moved to Okanogan County. She lived the past 60-plus years in Okanogan and Chelan counties.
Della was preceded in death by her parents, sister Margaret, brother Roland, husband Adolph, daughter Marianne, grandsons Roscoe and Robert, and granddaughter Lori.
She is survived by her son Robert, Klamath Falls, Ore.; and daughters Evelyn Mee, Edmonds, Wash., Grace Smith, Twisp, and Theresa Days, Okanogan.
Her Hopi Coyote clan has continued to grow. She leaves behind over 20 grandchildren, 40-plus great-grandchildren and numerous great-great-grandchildren.
Interment of her ashes will be Saturday, Oct. 12, at Beaver Creek Cemetery, Twisp, at 1 p.m. A potluck will follow at the Twisp Senior Center. Join the family in sharing memories, pictures and stories of Della over the many years we were graced with her in our lives.
