Senior news: August 28, 2013

August 28, 2013 by Methow Valley News

By Rosalie Hutson

Here we are – days are getting shorter, school is starting, the bees are getting worse, and the woodpiles are getting higher. And our Winter Sale starts this Saturday (Aug. 31).

So think cold and come in and get some bargains on your winter needs. The sale will run for several weeks, every day. Then the sale room will be turned over to the Halloween Sale setup. The Halloween Sale will run through the month of October.

Monday was the door prize gift basket drawing. Grady Mathis was the lucky winner. Congratulations, and enjoy the goodies.

September starts off with blood pressure checks on Sept. 5, and Friday dance day with the Hottells and friends.

Senior menu

Thur, Aug. 29: Chicken salad croissant with tomato, pea and cheese salad, macaroni salad, raspberries over ice cream.

Fri, Aug. 30: Tater tot casserole, tossed vegetable salad, blueberries and bananas, whole wheat bread or roll, pudding.

Mon, Sept. 2: Closed for Labor Day.

Thur, Sept. 5: Bacon swiss quiche with Hollandaise sauce, garden salad, steamed broccoli, assorted melons, blueberry muffin.
