Cascade River Road open

August 21, 2013 by Methow Valley News

The Cascade River Road, closed by a washout on Aug. 11, is now open to all vehicles to its end at Cascade Pass Trailhead, the National Park Service announced. The road, reached from Highway 20 at Marblemount, had temporarily been closed at the Eldorado Trailhead. The washout stranded hikers and their vehicles until a temporary road was established. Although the current repair of the washout is still temporary, it has been made sufficiently stable and has been reviewed and approved by National Park Service staff.
