The Shafer Historical Museum and Cascadia are joining forces to present “A Musical Journey Through Time,” including performances and workshops, on Aug. 24 at the museum in Winthrop.

Events begin with a demonstration and workshop for fiddle, other string instruments and Irish drum (bodhran) from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., with a one-hour lunch break. Cost of the workshop is $20.

From 2-3 p.m. a “Methow Musical History on Stage” will be presented, followed by an open jam session.

From 5-6 p.m., the Celtic music group Prairie Spring will perform.

Donations are welcomed, and those attending are asked to bring a chair and picnic lunch. For more information, contact Pam Hunt at 997-0222.
