The Methow Chapter of the Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance will host another Second Sunday Singletrack Session work party on Aug. 11, to clear brush from the popular Cedar Creek trail just west of Mazama.
This trail is clear and in good shape to Cedar Creek Falls at about mile 1.75, and is clear and in good shape beyond mile four to its end at Abernathy Pass nine miles in, according to a release from the Mountain Bike Alliance.
However, the section between the falls and mile four is brushy and overgrown and dissuades a lot of trail users from going further and discovering the trail.
Work party participants should meet at the Mazama Corral parking lot at 9 a.m. and carpool to the trailhead, then ride or hike into the falls. Bring work gloves, a sack lunch, water, and a bike if you’d like to ride.
RSVP or send questions to methowevergreenmtb@gmail.com or michaelinmazama@yahoo.com. People are also welcome to show up and help even they don’t RSVP.
