Road near Conconully to be closed
The U.S. Forest Service announced that Forest Road 3800 west of Conconully will be closed for repair work from Aug. 5 through Aug. 16. The route is the main road traveling west to national forest land from Conconully; it accesses Salmon Meadows Campground.
The road will be closed to westbound traffic at Kerr Campground. Salmon Meadows Campground will be accessible via Forest Road 39, over Lone Frank Pass. Signs will be in place at the intersection of Forest Road 3900 and 3820 to warn travelers of the closure about 11 miles ahead at the construction site.
The funding for these road repairs comes from the Emergency Relief for Federally Owned Roads Program which provides assistance to federal land management agencies for the repair of facilities damaged by natural disasters or catastrophic failures.
Forest road information is updated regularly and is available online at www.fs.usda.gov/goto/okawen/conditions or by calling the Tonasket Ranger District at (509) 486-2186.
