A memorial for Vicky Welch will be held Saturday (Aug. 3) from 1-5 p.m. at the Twisp town park.
Welch died after a long illness on June 10 at Sunny Pine Farm, the home she had shared with her husband, Ed, for 40 years.
The first hour will feature information about some of the organizations that Welch passionately supported, including personal memorabilia and photos from her life. At 2 p.m., a more formal program begins, paying tribute in words, music and dance.
A community potluck will follow. Guests are asked to follow common sense rules for hot-weather food safety. Some ice will be available for keeping food chilled. Please bring a serving implement, and label plates with your name. Cold beverages will be provided.
Guests are also asked to wear bright colors in Welch’s honor, to bring lawn chairs or blankets, and to leave their dogs at home. Some seating will be available. Overflow parking is available at TwispWorks.
The family requests that donations in Welch’s memory be made to Methow Valley Citizens Council, P.O. Box 774, Twisp, WA 98856.
