
An upcoming workshop will offer advice on how to apply Firewise techniques to create a defensible space around your home to better protect it in the event of a wildfire.
The Okanogan Conservation District is holding a Firewise workshop in Twisp on July 13.
Local fire managers will discuss ways to prepare a house and property and how to react when a wildfire is in the area. There is an optional field trip to see Firewise techniques being implemented on private property near Twisp.
The workshop will be from 10 a.m. to noon in the conference room at TwispWorks. The field trip is from noon to 2 p.m.
