Local mountain biking enthusiasts are invited to join a work party to improve riding trails at Sun Mountain on Sunday (July 14).
The Methow chapter of the Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance will host the “Second Sunday Singletrack Session,” which will focus on rerouting a section of trail at the intersection of the Cabin and Patterson Lake trails. The work will take place just above the Patterson Lake cabins.
Work will begin at 8 a.m. and volunteers can come for the day or put in a couple of hours as their schedules allow. There will be opportunities for swim breaks or riding the new section of the Black Bear trail completed by the chapter earlier this year.
Participants should bring boots, work gloves, a sack lunch and water, swimsuits and bikes.
Parking is limited at the Patterson Lake Cabins, so consider carpooling or parking at the Chickadee Trailhead and making the short ride or hike down to the work site. RSVP to methowevergreenmtb@gmail.com, or feel free to simply show up. For more information contact Michael Pritchard at 996-3430.
