Young magician Alex Nicolazzo of Winthrop turned a one-dollar bill into a five-dollar bill, made objects appear and disappear and performed slight-of-hand, chemistry and card tricks for a rapt audience at the Winthrop Library last Wednesday (June 19). It was the third public magic show for the 9-year-old, who has been performing tricks since he was 6. When asked what compels him to do magic, Nicolazzo answered, “I’m not sure. I just like it. It’s fun.”
