Margaret Louise Owens

May 15, 2013

Margaret Louise Owens was born Jan. 27, 1919, in Tacoma. She passed away at the age of 94 on May 6, 2013, with family members at her side.

She moved to Winthrop in 1987 to be near her twin sons. She quickly created a life full of friends. She enjoyed the S & B club at the Winthrop Barn and TOPS at the United Methodist Church. She loved the Tenderfoot and all her friends there as well. She enjoyed traveling, needlework, cooking and spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by a daughter, Dorothy (Tom) Harris of Eatonville; and two sons, Frank (Judy) Almquist of Methow and John (Agnes) Almquist of Winthrop. Two of her grandchildren living in Winthrop are Sara (Mark) Crum and Owen Almquist. Three great-grandchildren living in Winthrop are Ezra Almquist and Macey and Arlen Crum. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Clarence Almquist, and her second husband, Jesse James Owens, as well as by her oldest son, Carl Almquist.

Margaret spent her last three years in Jamie’s Place. We thank the staff for the wonderful care they gave her. She, and we, were lucky to have her so close and in such a great home. She will be missed. As per her wishes there will be no memorial services.
